EASY Shaped Pancakes

So have you seen that pin, where you put a cookie cutter in the bottom of your pan and pour the pancake batter directly into the shape?  The product is supposed to be adorable little pancake shapes to make you and your children happy.

Well, this particular pin did not work for me, AT ALL!  In fact it was an epic fail.  For the pancake shapes that didn't get all runny and gross in my entire pan, the other ones's that "turned out" were too thick and wound up burned on the outside and gooey on the inside.

As I was attempting to make my children a yummy pin-inspired breakfast, and FAILING, my husband comes in the kitchen and says, "Why don't you just make a bigger pancake and use the cookie cutters after it's done?"

Duh!! Score one for the hubs!

So I encourage you to pin this fun, pancake post, because the other one just didn't work.  Or maybe it was just me.  Either way this method is much easier.  As far as the left-over scraps, that's what the grown-ups eat, because generally speaking we don't require our food to be shaped like Christmas trees.
