What's With All the E-books?

Why in the world have so many people started writing e-books?  Well, quite frankly I think it's because most people have something that they're passionate about, and now it's possible to get ideas into print and be listed next to huge publishers in the online market without having to court some big publishing agent or spend a huge amount of money in vanity press.

I know that's certainly true for me.  Before blogging, writing was always something I wanted to do, but it was more of a wistful pipe dream.  I never imagined anyone would actually read what I was writing, but you know what?  People are, and I'm amazed and truly blessed by it. 

God has laid so many ideas on my heart or books, but as conservative as I am, most traditional (even Christian) publishers would not touch my writing with a ten foot pole.  In the past I would have been relegated to vanity press publishing (not exactly in the budget) but now with e-book sales surpassing print book sales, the dream of having these ideas in my head becoming an actual book becomes clearer and clearer.

I was truly fortunate to receive a complimentary copy of How to Market and Sell Your eBook and it was a fantastic read! I can honestly say that if you are in any way considering e-publishing YOU MUST buy this book, hands down no questions asked.  It's not a techy book, it's a how to get people to read and buy your ideas book.

Sarah Mae spells everything out, step by step. Simply and clearly so that anyone should be able to do this.  She also mentions simple things about e-publishing that I never would have thought of on my own.  Her insider tips (she's now published 3 e-books) will save me a lot of learning by my own mistakes when it does come time to launch these books floating around in my head.

God has placed a strong desire on my heart and my husband's heart to write, and my husband and I have been thinking and praying about writing e-books for quite some time.  I'm not even joking when I say this book has been an answer to our prayer asking for wisdom in this matter.  It truly is God sent and a huge blessing to us!
