Drops in the Bucket Update

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."
 2 Peter 3:9

The words that I write here tend to be the words that I also need to hear.  When I write something that is intended to be an encouragement for others it is very much also an encouragement to me.  Yesterday I wrote about how our small efforts in working for Christ, add up, even if we don't realize it.  I gave as an example the fact that even though I had not personally led any of my Junior church kids to the Lord, I had the privilege of seeing almost all of them be baptized because of the efforts of others as well.

The previous statement (Praise God) is no longer true.  I had the privilege of leading one of my Junior Church girls in the Sinners prayer at revival last night.  Her heart was ready and she came to the alter all by herself to be saved.  It's amazing that God gave me such a sweet privilege.

Going with the analogy yesterday, god placed so many little drops in her bucket that lead to her salvation: the van driver who brought her to church, her parents, her Sunday school teachers,Vacation Bible School volunteers,  her Junior church teachers, everyone from our church who demonstrates the love of Christ any time she enters, and the evangelist last night who gave the message that convicted her spirit all contributed to God speaking to her heart.

Our efforts for Christ are never in vain, even if they are just one drop in the bucket.
