God's Plans are Better

"A man's heart devisith his way; but the Lord directeth his steps."
Proverbs 16:9

There is a scene in the movie "Evan Almighty" (Which unlike Bruce Almighty I would recommend) where the main character, Evan, says to God (wonderfully played by Morgan Freeman I might add) "This wasn't in my plans!"

Morgan Freeman then begins laughing and says, "Your plans?  Your plans!?" and continues laughing.

How often do we come to God with our nice little Life to-do lists?  We tell God exactly where we see our future going, and how we're going to achieve our goals.

But it doesn't matter what our plans are, because God's plans for our life are so much better.  Perhaps a better prayer rather than telling God our goals is , "Lord direct my steps, help me accomplish that which you would have me do today.  Help me seek your plans and not my own."

It's the last day to enter in my giveaway for "How To Grow Your Blog And Manage Your Home."  Also if you have read any of my eBooks I would so appreciate you taking a moment to write a review on Amazon, particularly for "Honoring a Child Born To Heaven" and my husband's book "His Given Breath."

Will you learn along with me? Let's encourage one another.
I'd love for you to sign up for e-mail updates or follow me on Facebook.

  2. "For my ways are not your ways..." And I'm grateful. Mine are so flawed but many times I only see it in the light of God's ways. What encouragement you're handing out here!
