Wisdom in Parenting

Didn't God know when he made me a mother I'd be unexperienced?  Didn't He realize that there would be moments I'd have no clue what I was doing and just have to wing it?

 2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
 3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
 4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
 5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Oh Jesus, give us wisdom today in our parenting.  Whether our children are at home, grown, or not yet planned.  Work our faith in whatever situation we have so that we may develop patience and the ability to trust in you, so that, our faith may pass to our children and our hope may be evident in our lives. Jesus grant us the peace that passeth all understanding. And once again give us wisdom.

  4. Speaking as a mother of now adults I can tell you that He never failed me and I have two great adult children now.

  5. Thanks so much, I needed this.

    I'm praying that we can keep God our focus, and not just forget that He put our little family together, and that God has a purpose for us and will take care of us! We find ourselves so much lately, just not knowing answers to problems and trials that come up. THank you for the reminder in James. We are reminded that God will teach us and show us how to raise our little Sophie, and teach us to trust Him with our Lives!
    I pray that you continue writing and hearing from the Word of God--and from your children!

  6. "Being a mumma is the toughest job" - sounds such a cliche but it really really is. IOur words have the power to lift or wound. So many times I come up short, I too am so thankful for the grace and teaching God gives me thru my wee ones,
    hugs to you today,
    In His Joy,
