Month of Thankfulness, Jesus

I suppose I should have started my month of thankfulness with Jesus.  I guess I didn't have much foresight.  My salvation is certainly the thing that I am most thankful for.  Everything else in life is just a desire, not a need.  My family, my home, even food, is just a desire compared to my sweet Jesus.  How fortunate I am to call him mine.

God has really used the hymn "I'd Rather have Jesus" to speak to me lately.  It seems as though every word was penned with me in mind.  As many of you know my husband is currently in the process of being ordained.  He knows he's called into full time ministry, which means future exercises in faith on our part, but truly it needn't be that way.  After all every thing except Christ is just a desire.   Matthew chapter 16:24-26 says:

" Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.  For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.  For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

We don't know where exactly God is calling us, and how exactly he wants our family to serve Him, we do however know that we already have and will always have the most important thing.

I do not claim to be the world's best performer, and if there are any voice teachers that happen to be watching this you will see some very lazy technique, and if you're a piano teacher I'm sure you'll catch my mistakes and note my piano has gone a year without tuning.  I certainly wasn't going for perfection, (not that I ever could) I just wanted to share a hymn that was on my heart.

Blessings,
Kasey

  5. Beautiful hymn! You have a very nice voice, but if you record in the future we want to hear YOU more! The camera mic is picking up the piano much more than your voice. Thank you so much for taking the time to tape this and share it!
