Living Water

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:  But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.
Joh 4:13-15

There are days when we all feel dry and in need of encouragement.  Spiritual lows are real and sometimes feel like they may take our very breath away.  There are times when Christ feels so close we only need to breathe His name and His presence will wash over us, but at other times He feels so distant we can hardly find Him.

Even though there are valleys in our walk, we have Christ's living water springing up within us.  We have the promise of everlasting life which sustains us and quenches our thirst.  Not only that but we also have the understanding of our purpose in life.  As Christians we don't wander wondering why we're here, we know.  Every moment with our children, our family, our friends, and co-workers is spent for the glory of God and as a witness to His salvation.  We're here to give others a taste of that living water, so that they might choose to accept it into there own lives.

Our world around us surges—duties vie
For all our time, our energies, our care;
But greater duty urges; don’t pass by
A hurting heart whose burden we may share.
